Hedge End North NPT - Updates |
||
|
Hello to all, What a glorious afternoon it has been. We hope everyone who has the opportunity has been enjoying the lovely sunshine and blue sky ๐ Long may it continue!
Your local Hedge End North NPT (Neighbourhood Police Team) have been out and about having a very productive Saturday. Our team have been on duty from 0700 โ 1800 hrs, and we will leave you with the very capable hands of our lates/nights DPT response teams โ B and C ๐
Your Hedge End North Team (Hedge End/West End/ Botley) are: Sgt Ralph, DNO PC Amanda, PC Jim, PC Chris, PCSO Mica, PCSO Tracey, PCSO Colin. But our team will be expanding this year.
Here is a snapshot of the first day of this weekend: : Our DNO (Dedicated Neighbourhood officer) PC Amanda has been busy out on vehicle patrols of Botley and Boorley Green today.
She has also completed a Safeguarding visit to a vulnerable young person (and parents) along with our newest recruit โ PCSO Colin, who is in training and getting to know his Beat area of Botley and Boorley Green.
PCSO Mica and PC Amanda have issued an FPN Fixed Penalty Notice, outstanding for a Cycling offence. It is important to recognise that cyclists also need to have awareness of road safety and are not above the law. And if stopped by a PCSO / PC refusing to give their details/riding away are also offences.
PCSO Mica and PCSO Colin were out this afternoon on high-visibility cycle patrols of Hedge End and West End, including the town centres and busy retail parks. Please say hello and stop them for a chat any time.
Please do consider signing up to Hampshire Alerts to receive up-to-date information about what is happening in your community. You then have the opportunity to complete a survey. Your views matter to us and helps us concentrate our response and patrols. #YouSaidWeDid - www.hampshirealert.co.uk
PC Jim and PCSO Tracey have completed a Beat Surgery this morning at Hedge End Library (which is a very busy town centre hub of activity). Speaking to local adults and children, giving reassurance, updates and crime prevention advice. (Held once per month). Please see Hedge End Library website and Hedge End Police on Facebook for the list of dates and times.
Check out local Notice boards, supermarket community boards, shops, Post-office, cafe's & take-aways, churches etc for our new Beat Surgery dates for Spring / Summer (April โ August) 2026. (We also post these separately on Hedge End Police Facebook page and Hampshire Alerts).
PC Jim has also completed patrols of Hedge End, including Turnpike Road, and local parks/recreation areas. And he has been busy following up CCTV enquiries regarding shoplifters at Sainsburyโs retail park, off Tollbar Way.
Arrest attempt of shoplifting suspect โ Not at home on this occasion, but he will be detained at some point soon! Community Resolution issued for a dog bite incident Community Resolution issued for Possession of Class B Drugs
*A CR (Community Resolution) is a low-level restorative, disposal for specific offences. If the person/suspect admits to the offence, they can avoid court action. The CR aims for reparation, speedier outcome and avoids a criminal record.
These are just a few of the things Police deal with, and no doubt tomorrow will bring various different jobs, but as ever, if you have any concerns or worries and places that you believe need to be added to our Summer patrol plans, please do come and see us at our advertised Beat Surgeries in Hedge End, West End and Botley.
Or you can report via 101 and online reporting - www.hampshire.police.uk Other options are CrimeStoppers for non-emergencies โ 0800 555 111
Many thanks for reading! Have a great last weekend of April! ๐
